Default Hi Guys..New Guy

Hey There everyone i already hav a post up about purchasing a bike but i wasnt too clear about it. I am purchasing my first bike which means i have no experience with motorcycles. Someone said i should start with a ninja but i really want a honda cbr f4i. What do you guys suggest as far as a beginner bike.

A lot of guys on here will tell you an f4i is too much to be learning on. It depends on you and your tude about riding in general. If your the guy who has to see how fast your bike will go, even if you really don't have the experience to know what your doing, i would say to start w/a bike that has a lower pwr/weight than an f4i. I had an 02, and it was a damn fast bike. If you like to take things a lil slower, and have more than a little self restraint, a 600 should be fine to learn on. I learned on a yamaha 600 seca, and not to compair it to the f4i or the rr, but i had a lot of people tell me it was too big for a 1st bike, except the lady who gave me my driving test at the dmv ! She said it was perfect to learn on, and she was a former m/c cop. Its more about you, and what your confidence/capabilitys. You def don't want a bike your afraid of. I LOVED my f4i tho. Really nice smooth bike, and wheelies itself, if you like that sort of thing !! Like e/thing else, the right way to do it costs more, ie: smaller to bigger bike in 250 cc (or so) steps. You can find the 250 ninjas cheap tho. Mostly cuz they have been thru a lot of hands cuz most poeple get bored w/em pretty fast.

One other thing to keep in mind is that you will probably lay your first bike down at least once. Not a forgone conclusion, but most do. Might want to consider buying a "beater" for your first. Cuts down on the crying when/if you lay it down !!
