Hi all

Hey, just saying hello, new to Blades and wanted to get into it! Had litre twins for ever and wanted to try an inline4...there can be only one choice!! Just bought a very clean '94 Blade and haven't stopped grinning!!!
Will be asking you guys about tyres and carb balancing very soon so thought I'd break the ice...

Welcome to the CBR Forum Dave,

CBRs are a little infectious aren't they. Once you're through moderation, post some pictures of your bike.

Where do you ride?

Cheers, SB

Welcome to CBRF! That's a good 'blade, I like the 893s. Feel free to ask away! Throw up some pics. What kind of liter twins did you have? Are we talking RC51's, TLRs, or are we talking a bit more exotic like the Duc, Aprilias? Throw up pics of those too! Pics tell a lot

Cheers SB..been asking myself why I haven't jumped on one before!!!
I ride round the SE around London....spending a lot of time riding in Oxfordshire lately, superb roads and little police coverage so ideal!! Will get pics up as soon as

Thanks demon....first question (and I have been through older posts) is tyres...I have some Dunlop's on at the moment which are OK but have felt back end slide out when coming out of corners and wanted a bit more feel. I know it's all personal but wanted opinions from people who ride them day in day out (I use mine for work too)

hey cornice....I've currently got a firestorm (which needs some love) and an Aprillia RSV-R which only comes out on weekends...needed a bike for work and saw my Blade and had to have it!! After a life time on v's it's fantastic, the power delivery is so smooth and the handling!!!! Will get some pics up when moderators will let me..

You will get a lot of opinions on tires, all of them right and wrong. The best titre for you depends on your bike, riding style, roads, weather, and availability. If you give us all that information, we can point you in the right direction. You will need to decide which is best for you.

Personally, I run pilot powers. 929, dry canyon commute, ride pretty hard. Wear out as fast as all the other soft tires do. I tried a sport touring tire for wear, but I only got an extra little life with a big loss of feel for me.
