Hello. new to this site.

Hi. I just wanted to introduce myself. Although I am new to this forum, I'm not new to the Honda's phenomenal line of sportbikes.

My first CBR was an 03 CBR 600 F4i. She was the silver/red color scheme. Pilot Power front/rear. Power Commander. Micron slip-on pipe. 12,xxx miles

I just recently traded an ATV for 96 CBR 900 RR. D&D slip-on. It sat in a barn for quite a few years. I changed the oil, drained the gas, new battery and she roared to life. 10,xxx miles That was a week ago. I just put 100 miles on it last Saturday. Wow... a slight learning curve adjustment, but... I'm really liking it. It does seem slightly heavy when taking a corner though. The F4I really likes to carve... the 900 seems to push a little bit. hmm. Maybe with time that feeling will go away ?

Anyways... I look forward to learning and reading. Thanks!

Welcome man!

On the handling situation, that's definitely an issue of you being used to a more agile bike (the F4i).

The early 900's were not as "slim and fit" as the later models, with the 900 RR being over 30 lb. heavier than the F4i, and of course, the 900RR has a 10mm longer wheelbase than the F4i.

The 900s didn't start getting really light until the 929 and 954, with the 954 being lighter, both wet and dry, than the F4i!

What are your tires like? And more specifically, what PSI? The 900 should not feel heavy whatsoever.

Welcome to CBRF, by the way. Sounds like you found a great deal. Post some pictures when you can.

Hi and thanks.. I'm not sure what the front is, but the rear is a Pirelli Diablo. 39 PSI front/rear. I'll try and get some photos up of her soon.

Welcome to the forums. Nice find there. Always loved the 900's. Did you check out in depth anything on the bike before you took her out? Maybe she needs a good once over. Be safe out there.
