My son just bought a 94 cbr1000fr. I am in the background offering encouragement. The bike shows 16k on the clock but looks very rough. The previous owner plasticdipped the whoole bike. The motor sounds sweet but forks, left side cover and more will need attn. Overall can't wait to see how it will hang with my 1250 08 Bandit. Stay safe...joe

Upon further inspection yesterday, we found: fairings on both side badly damaged/repaired withe fiberglass. Front fairing repaired with fiberglass and out of shape, joint on right side 1/4" gap. We knew the bike's exterior looked rough, but. 15,800 miles on od. Common sense told me 17 year old bike... no way. Anyway, when we got the plastics off the bike looked very clean. No chipped rims, sprockets look good, rubber hoses look better than my 3 year old bandit with 18,000 miles. So we took it for a ride. He can keep up with me now. My comparison: my suzuki 1250 bandit gets torque right off 3,000 rpm. The cbr seems to start about 4,500/5000 rpm, but also redlines 1,000 more rpm. He probably would get me above 120mph+. But, we don't even come close to driving that fast. Anyway, looks like another bobber/streetfighter is in the make. Oh, forgot to explain the plastic dip, after all the fairing repair,he sprayed over all the plastics with black plastic dip paint to cover the cracks. Bottom line, for 18 ben's we're both tickled. Probably could have saved 3 ben's but again we are both happy.
