Default Hello from Holland

Hi All,

I'm Cyber, 21 from The Neterlands

I drive a '88 Hurricane with 89k (and still going strong!)

The bike is spread though my garden for maintainance at the moment, so i'll post a few poserpics in a month or so, has to get warmer here, need 15c for spraypainting!

Thanks

I bought it last summer (august) from the 2nd owner that had it for over 10 years.. when i asked him about maintainance he said that only the oil and brakepads had been renewed, the rest was still original from when he bought it..

So:

1st time in 10 years valve adjustment: only 3 valves where a bit off
brown breakline oil and clutch oil
Camshaft chain tensioner: 10 years old, still have to replace that one
really rusty screws everywhere
extremely ****ed up paintjob
rear shock/spring are gone, new one arrived last week
last owner even though he would look badass with black-ish sprayed indicators and rear light

I just finished syncing the carbs, not one was the same as the other, but no4 didn't have ANY vacuum :|

Running a lot better now, more soon!

By the way, somebody know where i can get a set of stainless steel screws for the fairing? I've been looking here in holland but they are like $1,50 per piece! So if anybody saw a complete fairing screws set somewhere, please let me know Can also be normal steel, i'll just have to make sure they don't rust

Welcome and congrats on your bike. Good luck on getting your bike back together, and I know where I live screws are just as expensive.

Looks like we got a milage competitor for thirdgen!

Check Ebay, they sell bolt kits but I'm not sure for a Hurricane.

checked ebay, found a boltkit for the hurricane but it's for the full bike, i'm looking for fairing only (i don't care about a rusty screw that i cannot see) and the kit was like 500 dollar or something.. i will mail the guy, see if he also ships fairing only

About the mileage.. my bike doesn't do miles, it does kilometers.. so with my 55.500 miles i will have to do mad driving this season to be somewhere near thirdgen's milage (see in his profile it's at about 120k now...)
