Hello fellow Hurricane and CBR fans!
I’m new to the forum but I’ve owned my 1987 Hurricane 1000 since new (June 1988) and now find myself with time and motivated to get it going. It has just over 41k which was put on early in its life as I haven’t ridden it regularly since about 2000. I commuted year round in Chicagoland and loved riding it even in January. Oh yeah, previously I had a ‘72 BMW R60 and a ‘86 Ninja 600 both of which I had for a couple years.
My Hurricane definitely needs some tlc. I know it will run since I’ve started it regularly even though I didn’t ride it. To-do list is a petcock rebuild, fuel lines, battery, fluids and tires just to get it running. I’m hoping to get some good advice and I’m excited to get started.
thanks 👍

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to check out the build this guy down south (really down south) on his 1000F. Slightly newer model, but should help get the juices going as well.
