Default Hello everyone!

Hey all, just bought my first bike a couple months ago... a 1998 900RR with 39,000 miles. It runs great and is a blast to drive.

As a first time rider, I never would have believed how poorly car drivers drive around bikes. I was driving the other night just after 10pm on a 2 lane highway about 55mph. A car from the oncoming traffic whips out to pass another vehicle just as I meet them! I swerved right and got on my brakes hard. The car didn't even bother to slow down, just kept the pedal mashed! The car met me while still passing the other vehicle! We were three wide on a two lane highway.... the vehicle getting passed, the car passing, then me travelling the opposite direction. The wind from the car that seemed less than a foot away from me blew the bike off the road, but luckily I was going slow enough and didn't crash. Anyway, I'm glad things worked out well for me and I'm happy to be a member here

And here's a pic of the bike the day I bought it. I rode it home just over 70 miles in the rain.

Yes it's loud! I like the sound of it though. It doesn't get loud until 4k rpm or higher, so I usually drive slow in town to not call attention to myself.
