I am motorcycle enthusiast since birth, really love anything with an engine. I have owned several VFR's 400s and 750's currently have a 2013 vfr800x crossrunner, and a Honda CBR600FS-1 sport.

I bought the CBR as a weekend toy and to use for track days. It was in a sorry state when i picked it up. So i pulled it apart changed fork oil, head stock bearings, cleaned the brakes, refreshed brake fluid, coolant flsh, painted the rad and fan, removed headers and inserted helicoils in 2 of the threads that had been drilled oversize, new header to head gaskets, new plugs (wrong plugs in the bike) 2 replacement coils., as 2 had split, cleaned throttle bodies, soaked the rubber boots to make them soft enough to refit.

This is where we are now.

How the CBR looks today, trying to track down an electrical issue... Driving me nuts. Haynes manual is incorrect for this bike sadly...

what the cbr looked like a couple of weeks ago, ready for new head race bearings, also changed the fork oil while they were out.

coming apart or going back together, i dunno which.

Looked nice when i bought it, and it ran, but very badly, and had no maintenance for about 5 year.

 

As you said does look quite nice from the outside, not too bad inside either.
You can get a manual here which should help you https://www.manualslib.com/download/...0f4i-2001.html, The FS is pretty much Identical to the 01 F4i.
Treasure the V4, not sure Honda will make another
What problem are you having as there are some fantastic folks on here that can help with that.
