Hello from Calgary (Canada) CBR600F4 99
Hello everyone.
I recently bought a CBR600F4 and it's my first fast bike. Really enjoying it. Unfortunately I live in Calgary (but I'm from Ireland) so the riding season is almost at an end here - I'll have to store the bike for winter (which I'm sure I'll be asking for advice and reading old topics on that subject). Any other Calgary/Canada people around?

Welcome to the forum, and riding!
For winter storage, get a battery tender and some fuel stabilizer. Putting the bike away is easy, its starting it back up in the spring thats the beotch. Make a list of maintenance, repairs, and mods you want to do to it and make it a winter project so it's ready to go when you need it.
There are a bunch of members in Canada around here. Check the regional section or just hang around and you will see them. Note the upper right of their posts for their location. It wouldn't be a bad idea to edit you location as well...

I lived in Calgary until 2006 and now I am in Vancouver. I'm from the U.K. as well, lot's of us around out West.
The winters are pretty long in Alberta, what is the weather like right now? Still a bit of riding time left? I certainly appreciate the longer riding season in BC.
Any plans to work on your bike to pass the winter away?
You should post some pictures of your bike.

That's an interesting looking F4. Haven't seen red on sunrise yellow b/f...& especially not w/ yellow wheels. ;-)
We've been getting a few new members lately w/ F4's...that's excellent. Although we have our core F4 group, we've lost a few members w/ F4's lately. So, glad you're here. I have a 2000 F4. Come on over to the F4 section & make yourself at home.
Welcome aboard.

Thanks - I got a good deal on it since it needed some work (had no signal lights, mirrors, that sort of thing), but I'd like to learn how to do things myself (with help from the forum), and the fairings are scratched and a bit broken in places. The guy who sold me it said he got it in a police auction. I wonder what stories this bike would tell if it could talk!
Thanks for the welcome - I'll contribute what little I know when I can and will try to keep my [many] questions sensible and to the point!
