Default Hello from Austin!

Hello from central Texas!

Well, My name is Ben. I don't own a bike yet nor have my motorcycle licence. But you got to start somewhere right? Rode a friends CBR and I am hooked. Will be getting my licence and a bike fairly soon. just wanted to say hi! Will be doing a lot of reading. Oh and I plan on taking it slow, the CBR may not even be my starter bike. Still new, and very green to all of this! Any tips and links to help me start my journey will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to CBRF Ben! Definitely look into taking some sort of MSF course. Most states offer them and you get to learn all the basics in a controlled environment, usually on their 125 or 250 that won't cost you a penny if you drop them. Just make sure you get a good helmet, jacket and gloves. You won't be sorry.

Keep browsing this forum and anything motorcycle related that you can get your hands on and then wait for a good deal. Good luck and enjoy the forums!

Thanks!

I am taking in alot of info right now, Gonna take the basic course at http://totalrider.com/courses.html then get my license. I have been cruising craigslist for bikes and gear sans a helmet which I am gonna buy new, Also got my insurance all figured out for the most part.

I am pretty excited. Just saving money right now.
