Hello all CBR'ers!
Hey there guys! Thought i'd pop in a thread saying Hi and introducing myself!
Im Jon, 20, from London. I currently have a 91' CBR 400RRL NC29 Streetfighter that is currently going under a rebuild/reconditon, everything is being replaced/cleaned/painted pretty much, I will probably post another thread with detailed pictures and description. I was inspired to rebuild it after it being taken off the road recently, so I had the chance to do it whilst it couldn't be ridden. It had a slow leak from the sump after I serviced it (Tightened the sump plug a bit too much and created a hairline crack through the thread, silly me!) So I got a new sump, and went to fit it, exhaust removal comes first right? So I managed, like an idiot, decided to shear 3 exhaust studs. So, out came the engine after what was supposed to be a simple sump replacement!
Now the following has been done:
- Tank and rear fairings professionally sprayed (Dayglow orange!)
- Wheels professionally resprayed (Gloss black)
- Frame and subframe stripped down and repainted (Gloss black)
- Swingarm and all components cleaned up, regreased and re-oiled
- Headstock bearings removed, thoroughly cleaned and regreased
- Yokes stripped down and repainted (Gloss black)
- Carbs cleaned out and refurbed
Plus loads more to follow in my project thread Sorry for the long intro, but I get carried away with talking bikes, I just love em!
