Default Hello

Hi all,
I'm new to motorcycling and new to hondas!

Some background:
Finished motorcycle training course with a 100% on the test

I recently purchased a used CBR F3 with about 25,000 km on it (about 15,000 miles). I've taken it out 3 times, each for about 1-2 hours and been taking it really easy.

I dropped it once in my garage because I forgot to put the kickstand on. Luckily, there are no scratches/marks at all!

Thats all for now

Hey there mr93t, congratulations on the new bike, and kudos for taking the rider course. Nice and easy is the way to go, these bikes have a rather narrow learning curve. Glad your bikes OK, lol. I almost did that once and it scared the heck out of me, though I was able to catch it. Now I always look before dismounting.
Post pictures if you get a chance ~ welcome to the forum

Thanks for the welcomes.
I'm thinking I need to get the bike tuned up. I don't know enough about motors to mess around with it myself. It seems to take a while to start, and while holding the start button, I have to continuously play with the throttle to get it to start.

It is cold out though (10 degrees celcius / 50 Fahrenheit), and it did have fuel stabilizer in it. Once it warms up, it restarts no problem.

Anyway.. Maybe this weekend I can pull off an oil change and spark plugs (which I can't seem to find anywhere!). For carb cleaning/syncing, I will probably take it to a shop.

The only pics i have right now is when we just brought it home on the trailer.

That dropping her in the garage because of the side stand not down is way more common than you might think .. and yer , I have gone close to doing that a few times over the years ..

If you have no manual to find the plugs and oil filter, go check the links below and download a free one to study if you have some time..

YES! Thanks so much for the link. I was looking for the shop manual

I did manage to find the spark plugs I need by searching this forum, however I cannot find a local store who carries them! Also can't find any on ebay. I'm going to try to call a few places tomorrow.

Thank you for the welcomes, tips, and links!

Welcome to the site man. I did the same thing right after I graduated my MTC, dropped my friends bike at a gas station in front of everyone cause I forgot to put the kickstand down lol. The more you ride, the better you get at it, so try to ride more often. There's alot of good riding tips on here so just search around. This site taught me alot, and I'm sure it can do the same for you.

Here's a VERY good one;

Thanks guys...

I'm not sure if its a real smokin joes or not. Under the VIN it reads CBR600SE and the last few digits of the vin are 0088. My ownership also reads CBR600SE

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I've made it a habit to ALWAYS stop, and check for the kickstand. I've been riding really easy. I don't intent to speed or be an aS$ on the road. I feel confident more and more confident with every hour I spend on the bike, but still refrain from riding "agressively".

I think I got into riding just to get out and enjoy the wind and some twisties

Anyway...I just don't feel like crashing the bike and hurting myself. This summer I will be focusing on getting full control over the bike, and learning to share the road with cagers...safely.
