Dear 900rr_Guy:
Rear bags info:
*CORTECH, by TOURMASTER. I Got them from the good folks at WEST HONDA, in TUCSON, AZ. and they come with separate straps, clips for securing, and rain covers. It took some searching by me to find what I was looking for, but it was worth the search.
The set of bags is actually two items; a top-bag and the two saddlebags. The bags have(ample)thick neoprene foam on the bottom to protect moto from abrasion. The saddlebags go on first, then the top bag. The items are independant of each other, you can use one without the other. I was told they are designed specifically for sportbikes, and so there are no bells & whistles, all function and to heck with form. They are tough, and could survive a wipeout better than I. Each bag israted to carry 15 lbs., and has more room than I'll ever use, because I've noticed what a hugeeffect weight distribution has on moto handling. I saw them in red too. They secure well, with thick bungee-cord goingto four points. There are clips to secure the saddlebags to each other. The zippersare plastic, and have large, rubber-coated tabs which make the bags easy to open with gloves on. The saddlebags have heat-resistant material on the bottom. All bags have reflective logos, stitching and panels and enhance my visibilty considerably.
They seem perfect for me, but easy to forget about until the first turn and then its like there is a bag of cement on pillion. Theyare well designed, going onand coming offeasily. They have handles and can be easily carried whenwanted. If I can think of anything more, I'll write it here.
Do you know why the North won the American Civil War ? It's because they had more Irish! I too plan for a long journey.
Peace, Gray.

I saw this develope on another thread and I feel it is my duty to give more information about my self. From 31OCT84 I 've been recovering from heroine addiction. I've not used drugs to fight my drug addiction. I've benefitted greatly from proffesional council, contemplation, and self- preservation. I still go to Narcotics *Anonymous meetings, regularly. No problems with booze, Just a shot (Jameson) on 18APRXX, for my departed Mother. Her birthday.
Military History consists of10 months (of a 6-Year contract ) [16MAR79-18JAN80] in the USAF, as a Parachute Specialist. I was Honorably Discharged for "Unadaptability to military life, and it was one of my (wonderfully nonviolent)Mothers' happiest moments on earth.
Being nonviolent, and travelling alot, meant getting my *** beat in every ghetto West of St. Petersburg Russia ! No surprise I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, for which I take council. I've never hit anyone (Except Taekwondo) in my life.
Oh, and my favorite color is green.
I attained a chilhood ambition when I became a US NPS Ranger, in N. Calif. I was a Comissioned Law Enforcement Officer, a Wilderness EMT (no ambulances in thewilds), and a Type-II Structural and Wilderness Firefighter. Be careful what you wish for...you just may get it!
My religion is that of the free-thinker. Around here free thinking will get you tarred and feathered!
My politics are that of any patriot. I am both proud and ashamed of my countries history and foreign policies. My greatest political concerns areglobal.

Hello, it's Gray again, with more ad nauseum.
My First time getting paid to ride a moto was today!
By 10:00 am the birds were singing and the sun was shining and I had to get to the other side of the Rio Grande pronto for some beads. I am a self-employed beadseller.Because I rode my moto, in the transmission of my commerce, today (and I'd never done it before) I tell the truth.
The neck muscles are toughening up, they had atrophied over-winter. Without my Arai Corsair helmet to support in A Buck-&-a-Quarter winds, they became weak.
All those years of riding a mountain bicycle on Mt. Tamalpais are paying off today ! The front end breaks loose thesame way on a moto(I didn't loose it) and so my brain registers the feeling from the handlebars with familiarity. My feel for the "throttle-steer-break-hang on thing" of the right hand improved considerablytoday.
Laid down my first skidmark today. I was in mixed, light traffic, when a Harley driver "appears out of nowhere" in my right mirror and startles me. I pull away at a rapid rate of acceleration in a straight line for about a quarter mile. The stop at the next light was perfectly on the line, but the rear wheel skidded, just a little at the end. My skid was about one meter.
Traffic caught up with me and the Harley driver pulled up directly behind me. I turnedaround and gestured towards my eyes with my rightindex and ring fingers in a "V" and shook my head left to right and said "sorry, I'm blind". Well he can't hear my words, and my gestures speak volumes. I realizemy mistake in time to lift my visor and yell, loudly, to the BIG Harley driver (and his lovely femalepassenger): "SORRY -I'M-BLIND-SORRY-I'M BLIND !!' At which time, inhis wisdom, saw my name is Quid and he justrelaxed. So did everyone else near that intersection.
I dunno which was "ad" or "nauseum", but you meet the nicest people on a Honda.
Peace, Gray.

Some good stuff here Raven! Very entertaining.

Look through some of the off-topic post... there are threads there where you can post up pics of yourself, and tell us even more about yourself. It's good reading to go back to those threads every once in a while. You can see what other posters here look like and gain insight into their lives too!

There are no photos of me in existence. Native American cultural thing. Has to do with capturing your mojo in a likeness. As a Ranger, I'd tip the smokey-bear hat down in front of my face when photographed by visitors. The photographer at my wedding was in my crue, so he knew what the deal was. Family been tryin' for years to get pics. I trust you all, but now the cable to transfer pics out of digi-cam is fubar. Tomorrow I go to buy a suit and tie(really) and so I'll stop and get a replacement cord. My bro's say I resemble Clint Eastwood in "High plains drifter" when I'm cheerful. No name for when not.
Also, we're constructing a 1,000 sq. ft. art studio on the prop. and they keep ripping up my cable. I swear I will slow the heck down. Today was the best day of my life. I've a rason d'etre ! So, if im not heard from, it's just a tech. diff. Back asap.Rosemaries' baby?

For my Mother...
Static miasma-push-turn-roll-turn-ride-turn-drive. Weather ala Toto. Airborn desert onna Arai sounds like ants marching upon foil. Broiling thunderheads urinate rainbows upon my visage. Turn-climb into soupy cieling. Fog-mist-wet-cold-sleet-slippy-crossblow. Naught save The Quest. Berth at security shack (no valet), don suit, get ticket, sit, hope.
Light explodes from subatomic particles in my heart. One minute together for every year apart. "Can I go?"
Ballistic plummet, leaving trail of crushed heart powder in snow as I auger in. My first glass slipper.

"I am ashamed to call this love human and afraid of God to call it divine."...Rumi.
