Whats up peeps. Just bought a 2011 CBR600RR from the original owner a few weeks ago. It has 13k miles on it. The only mods were rear fender delete with TST Integrated Tail light and Yoshi slip-on exhaust. Loving the bike so far. Since I bought it, I've put a tinted Puig windshield on it, a Saddlemen Gel-Channel seat on it and changed/added a few decals. I bought a Toce exhaust (not a fan of how the Yoshi looks and love the sound of the Toce), black Vortex chain and sprocket kit, CRG RC2 clutch and brake levers, flush mounted side markers, LED headlight bulbs, and a carbon fiber undertail from TST Industries.
Here's my question for all of you- In the past, when bringing your bike in to a bike shop to have work done to it, how long is it generally there? I dropped my bike off 8 days ago to have the swing arm, passenger pegs and foot controls all powder coated black, the Toce exhaust installed, side markers put in, Vortex chain and sprockets installed and carbon fiber undertail installed. I stopped by yesterday to drop something off to them and they haven't even touched the bike yet... He said "my powdercoater should be ready for the parts at the end of this week". What bothers me is I gave them a weeks notice to plan for my bike and the powder coating and it seems like they didn't even contact their powdercoater until 4-5 days after I dropped it off. Living in Connecticut, I don't have 12 months a year to ride and I feel like I'm wasting valuable riding time lol. Just curious what you guys have experienced with bike shops over the years and if this is normal in the bike world or if I should be frustrated lol.
Anyways, here's a pic of the bike and my other baby
That would be enough for me to find another shop. The service writer is not very good at his job. If they were so busy that they couldn't get to you, they should have told you upfront or schedule you in for a later date. If it was a powdercoater or a mechanic on vacation issue, they should have scheduled you accordingly.
Pick up the bike and ride it while you can. Save the swingarm powdercoating for the winter time when it will not be on the road for months....
