Default F3 owner from Scotland

Hi all, picked up a 97 f3 almost by accident last summer. A mate of a mate was selling it and I just offered a ridiculously low price to get rid of him but in the end he took it!!!

Ive always had a thing for the last of the f3s but could never afford one when they were new and when I could have afforded one I'd moved on to other things. Its quite tidy but will get repainted (by trade I'm a car painter, so its only going to cost the price of the paint) in its original colours and I've got a replica decal kit sat here ready for it.

Me to, its scruffyness is starting to annoy me, especially as it rides so well. I'll get the frame and wheels powder coated just because theyre so awkward to paint, the rest will get sprayed. I got quite afew miles on it last year and have to say I love it, even though I'm over 6ft it's still really comfortable.

Welcome to CBRF! It's great to have someone on the forum that knows bodywork. Please show us a build thread when you paint it!

Even though we're in the south of Scotland we do have some fantastic roads so are quite lucky there, the downside is that it does rain quite a lot lol.

I'll definately do a build thread for it, I just need to decide when to make a start as I dont want it off the road when the good weather begins.

Hi Rich, I'm doing a resto on a CBR400rr ,had the frame ,swingarm and wheel powder coated, next time I'll have them sprayed (got another 2 on the go) as on the build you have to be careful (chipping) ,when putting the swing arm bearings, wheel bearings and head stock bearings back in, just a thought

I know what you mean about chipping it, the frame I'll possibly paint as its not really on show and not as awkward as some but the wheels are definately being powder coated just because of the spokes

Welcome to the forum. Nice bike. Arent they comfortable though. I am 6 foot as well and honestly prefer the F3's stance over my F4i. Thanks for joining. Document and share if you can bud. Cheers.
