Hi guys!
My name is Paulo and I am from Portugal. I have the respectable age of 39 and I am the proud owner of a '05 CBR 1000 RR since last December. I am very much in love with the bike. This is only my second bike, my previous one being a 2003 CBR 600 RR, who taught me how to ride a bike! Excellent teacher! I hope I will learn a lot with you people. All the best

Hello Bruno, almost neighbours then!
Portugal is a great place for biking because of the weather, although, I don't like to ride in the summer because it can reach 40ยบ and it is not nice to be stucked in traffic, with your leathers at that temp. Also, portuguese drivers are reckless and a potential danger for us, so, be very careful, but I think you will like it!

Bruno,
Portugal is not that warm in the winter, during the night it can go to -6ยบ, so, ice is always a problem!
No, I don't go to the races, this is heresy, but sports bikes races are not my thing, I am 100% car fanatic! Eheheh. My bike is a working bike, it normally only works during the week and rests during the weekend. That said, I do like to take trips with it ( I am crazy, I know), I have done 500 miles per day without any problem. It might be Honda's ultimate sports bike, but for me it is a versatile machine, it just depends on my mood!
Concerning group gathering, I normally avoid, bikers do not have the best of reputation around here, and it is "bad enough" for a guy almost 40 to ride a sports bike, much less in group. But yes, I do have a couple of friends, and sometimes we ride together.

HI Paulo, just curious what car do you drive? From your last post i get the impression that you like to portray yourself as a sensible kind of guy, i recon you got an Audi estate or something like that.
I think you should be a devil and book a track day then you'd realise what fun you've been missing out on!
