Hi, I'm new. A couple hours ago I dropped my bike going around a roundabout. I was doing about 45 and there was a puddle I didn't see around the corner. The bike slid away from me and we both ended up quite a ways onto the sidewalk. I'm fine but my 250 has a problem. The little piece that keeps the handlebar from turning too far to the left has bent away so now I can overturn the bars. It's welded on so I don't know what to do about it. I guess I could live with it but when I park the bike I have to play with the lock because the bars don't sit properly (also my horn button hits the gas tank).

Is there anything else I should check out on the bike? The brakes seem a little looser than they were before but other than that it all seems okay.

 

If I were you I'd check the whole front end bro, set it on a paddock stand, straighten it up, take a few spaces out in front o the bike, have a good close look just to ensure your forks n front wheel are alined. Tighten the brakes.

Yep, as daviej said, you want to really check everything. Amazingly, sometimes what seem to be insignificant or minor, could really be more hidden damage. Just inspect everything thoroughly.
