Default confused newbie

hi folks
i'm new to the forum... tho i have known about the site for a long time. i just joined today.

i currently own a slighted modded vfr750 and have been wanting to get something with a lil more pop to it for some time now. my confusion however comes in what bike is best for me: the cbr 954 or the new 1000?

i'll post a message with my concerns & stuff in another part of the forum later. looking forward to getting some good info on her tho & eventually contributing my own cbr info too.

Both are awesome bikes. But if I had to pick it would be the 1000RR.

The questions are money and colour scheme; they both are great bikes and will not loose buying either of the bikes .[sm=goodidea.gif]

How long have you been riding? If you have good experience and are ready for a liter bike, then i'd just say go sit on both and see how they fit you. The egros of them are both alittle different. See which one you are more comfortable on. You can't go wrong either way.

hi guys sorry for the delayed response, but i was on vacation. anyway, i have been riding since 3rd grade, have owned several bikes & currently ride a vfr 750. but i need a lil more "pop". i have admired the cbr 9 since the 1st gen, but preferred a more comfortable riding posn & plus when that '94 vfr 750 first came out its looks were killer!

but anyway, i prefer the looks of the 954 vs the more conservative looking 1000. i do however like the sweet underseat exhaust on the 1000. that is about the only look of the 1000 that i like vs the 954. ok maybe it's just the front end styling that i don't like on the 1000 - typical honda, mundane looks comapred to the other literbikes. i am seriously considering getting the yamaha R1, but i have NEVER owned anything but honda. so this would be pretty major for me to jump ship.

i prefer the lightweight of the 9 and have always liked the fact that it was amongst the lightest in its class but now its almost the porker with the added weight & becoming a 1000. (tho it has more power).

also if i can mod (cheaply) the 954 to have as much or nearly as much power as the 1000, then i will def get it.

so that being said any cbr 9 owners or anyone know what mods can be done which are most effective to get more power with out adding too much weight?

thanks,
kahlil
