I just bought a 2000 cbr 929 w/22,000 mi on it. I know thats more than 3000 a year. If the bike was taken care of should i worry about the high miles? Will I start having problems, if so what problems should I expect. The kid I bought it from seems like he was really into the bike, he is the second owner though. It has a 2 broth. full pipe, power comm. III racing brakes intergrated lights and fender.

 

Receipts of maintenence are always a bonus to help you feel confident in your purchase. 22,000 miles? A lot? Nope. I know guys that have got 40,000 on them. Just be religious with your maintenence program and it will do very well. You'll see external problems like a voltage regulator/rectifier or a stator go before you'll experience any internal problems.

It sounds like timetorebuild themotor. I was told for most bikes at 15k-20k it needs to be rebuild I dunno if that is really true.
