I have always wanted a Sports Bike. So i am looking into Honda's for reliability.

Can anyone direct me as to where to look for good deals?
I know of Cycle Trade.

I am looking to spend about $5000-6000

Have you taken the safey course? How you riding before and if so, what? Have you tried out the differenet manufactures out there? Honda's is great, but that doesn't take away from Kawa, Suz, etc.

The bike must feel comfortable and good when you sit on it.

Don't forget to plan and account for Motorcycle Gear!

I got on a bike once in my life. Don't know what brand it was.

I would recommend you take the Safey course first before making any moves.

Start with this website

That is a tough question. Many have different opinions on here. Assuming you’re not an idiot (you did ask for advice so I assume your not) and won't ride like one then the F4i is a good starter bike in my opinion. I HIGHLY recommend taking the MSF Basic Riders Course (BRC). I would even go as far as to suggest youtake that before you get the bike. I would recommend trying a friend’s bike if you can.

Pay attention during the BRC you can get hurt on any bike, so respect the bike.

Wowww... Thats scaryy..

No I am not an idiot.I am not a show off. I am not gonna be that guy popping a wheelie on Interstate-80

The Honda F4ilooks sharp. I am 5'9.
It does look small in some pics.

I definitely want to put safety first. Thats the only down fall to having a bike. The much bigger risk of some idiot switching into your lane. None-the-less i am willing to take the risk, and think for them.

Ok the BRC seems like a good idea. See, i had no idea stuff like this exist.
I still have a good month ahead of me, before i am even able to buy a bike..
Unfortuneately, I dont know anyone that well to try out their bike..

SOOO.. the F4i, is stick shift? auto?
If stick, does it drivelike a car?

ThanksGuys!

You questions is a bit odd and confusing at the same time. How much do you know about Motorcycles? How did you become interested in Motorcycle? Have you read magazines, internet articules, etc?

Does it drive like a car? Are you serious with this questions?

Sportbikes are not automatic. They have a clutch and gears to shift up and down. And no, a Motorcylce does not drive (or ride) like a car.

Please do yourself a favor. Learn - learn - and do more learning about everything that is Motorcycle. Continue to use this forum and ask plenty of questions. And sign up for the Safety course like yesterday!

I think you need to Learn - learn - and LEARN how to read a topic. "Completely Noob" (need more explanation than that?)
Obviously this forum is here to educate other people on things they don't know.

Did I say/do something wrong?

People can be snippy.

What gets to somefolks is the thought of a 'complete noob' jumping on a 160mph sportbike that accelerates as fast as a NASCAR/Indycar without any crash protection. But did you ask something wrong? No. Funny? yes.

Really funny. After you ride for a while, you'll laugh too.

A sportbike is really just a somewhat civilized version of what you see raced on TV. A lot of noobs get hurt because they want something that looks great, but have no intention of riding fast. What happens is they get in over their heads because the power is abolutely amazing and they don't have the skills or the reaction to save themselves.

The Honda F4ilooks sharp. I am 5'9.

Sportbikes tend to be small. They tend to be light. They tend to be less forgiving. They tend to be really fast and stop really fast and turn really fast. They are really just race bikes. At 5'9" you will fit the bike well.

Think about the type of riding you will do, then pick a bike that will do what you want easily. The F4i is a sportbike that is a little more comfy than the RRs, but it is still meant for twists and turns, not cruising and highway for any length of time.

Good luck on your choice and welcome to the site.
