Default CBR600F 1998 Project

just bought a bike which is not running on its own fuel tank although it was runn8ng from a spare one at the garage, so it must have fuel flow issues. Going to start with taking tank off, empty, clean and replace & also deep clean carburettors and then See what happens?

Any advice appreciated as bought mainly for myself and son to freckle with and t9 see if we can get running, before a full rebuild, as fairings and a few other bits and bobs looking a bit sad and sorry for themselves.

Should be fun.

Welcome to the madness, I mean forum.
You are correct. Start out by pulling the carbs and give them a thorough cleaning. Don't be suprised about how hard they nay be to rem The boots pretty much weld themselves to the intake. But they will come off eventually. Also, the carbs are wonderful but they must be spotlessly clean. A "good enough" job will only leave you frustrated. But it's not a hard job once you set your mind to it.
