CBR New Bee on NY/VT Border
HI,
I've just recently acquited a "87 CBR 600, 13,000 miles, it's been kept
under cover most it's life. All plastics are cracked and or missing (Lowers).
The engine runs like a dream no odd noises what so ever. I got it as basket case and have been slowly placing it back together.
I need a fuel petcock, any one have one? Possibly trade for something?
I have no American stuff, but a bit of Honda, SOHC,DOHC in line four stuff, and a small amount of British mostly Norton 750 Commando.
In the barn is;
71 Norton Interpol
73 CB 500-4
77 CB 750 F2-chopper
82 CB 900 Custom- 220,000 miles
87 CBR 600
Thanks
Joe in NY
As far as being a New Bee, I am a Bee Keeper as well!

I will try to get pics, have to bug kids to let me use the camera.
As far as what runs in the barn,
1.the 500-4 is the daily ride, 605cc big bore, web cam, 4 into 1 exhaust,
ported head, worked carbs,,fast enough to get me in trouble!
2.750 F2 is chopped, Amen Savoir Cali Soft Tail frame, Fury Girder Springer 18 over, diamond fuel tank,,,,too long, too light, too fast, in storage since "88. Like driving spaghetti.
3.900C w/ 1100F internals, needs a new 4 into 1, not on road, runs 11.20's in 1/4. Chassis has 220,000 miles on her. Too many mods to list!
4.Commando Interpol, awaiting wiring, total frame off re$to.
5. CBR- barn fresh, had it running, ruined fuel tap cleaning tank.Misssing plastic lowers, head fairing cracked and rashed, air box had a mouse nest in it, tires were cracked, tank nasty, rattle can paint work, 13,000 miles.

Nice collection in your stable Joe!
Good to hear that you're bringing another one back to life.
Place a WTB (Want To Buy) ad in the classifieds & ask in the '87 section about resources for parts as well.

Awesome Norton Joe! How about a pic of the CBR? Are you planning to restore her? I don't think and of the china companies go back to hurricanes. F2 sets are even getting to be harder to find but eBay still has lots of used body pieces available. You'll just have to paint them up to match.
How far up in NY are you? I'm in mass down in the MA/CT/NY corner. I've had some fun rides up through VT along RT7 and I think it's RT 100 that's pretty twisty and a fun ride as well. Haven't ridden a lot in NY that far up. To many bored cops in NY for my taste lol.
