Cbr 125r clutch
Hi I’m just wondering if anyone can help me I’ve ridden bikes all my life but never had a Honda I’ve had it almost 2 weeks and there is a bolt on my clutch leaver which when I’m riding it’s coming up over “coming loose” when im going through my gears especially when coming in to second gear it’s over revving and sometimes jumping back to neutral and sometimes going in to third gear it makes a funny sound through the gear change now can this clutch pivot bolt cause problems with gear changes or jumping back out of gear now and then ? |
Hi , on the clutch lever there is a nut holding the pivot bolt in the bracket, make sure that's there, but I dont think it's that that's causing your gear problem, if its jumping out of gear then its more likely to be your gear drum and selector forks, how many miles has your bike done

Hi thanks for your reply, my bike has done almost 6,000 miles my gear selector/leaver feels a little loose to like when I pull it it’s pulling back and forwards got quite a bit play on it and I thought it may have needed an oil change or something but I really have no idea it’s that second gear the second it hits and my bike goes to about 6,000-7,000 rpm it just jumps back to neutral and revs so high then I have to knock it up and again and it’s fine after that until I stop |
Have you tried adjusting the clutch cable first, with only 6000 miles on it ,I would have thought its a bit early for the forks to wear that much, so try the adjustment first making sure you only leave the appropriate play in the cable, what oil do you use?

I have no idea how to adjust the clutch and I’m not very technical with these kind of things certain things I’m good with some I’m not , and I was told to use 10w40 but just not sure what brand is best or if that is even the right oil to use |
Right , do you have the Workshop Manual for your bike, and the Oil recommended for you bike is 10w30 , but cant see that the oil would cause this, have a look at the Workshop manual and see if its the right thing for you to tackle , could be a number of different factors including the Stopper Arm Spring, but all this means getting to grips with a set of spanners
