Cbr 1000f camchain rattle
Hi everyone, I am new to your forum and have just purchased a decent looking 1992 CBR 1000FM. There is a pretty bad rattle from the cam chain area and I was wondering if anyone knows if Honda produce a upgraded camchain /guides/ tensioner kit to repair the problem or what parts i will need. Also, is there a manual tensioner available from anywhere else? I realise there was always a problem with the tensioner on this model. Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
I'm sure Honda has looked at their CCT design many time since 1992. Have they done anything about it? Sure they have, they do it all the time to all kinds of parts. If you want to go the manual route, APE makes them. You will need to set the tension yourself and adjust it periodically. Many members go the manual route and use them religiously.

To my knowledge APE don't make a manual tensioner for the 1000F
HenryM re-wrote the rule book on the tensioner. Excellent work
DRam wrote one too.Different solution to HenryM.
Long-term tests are awaited for both ideas.
BTW your 92 model would have been fitted with the last amended CCT that Honda made.
