Cbr 1000 f 1988
Just bought the above bike as spares or repair, cleaned the carbs - its a good runner but the fairings are crap and virtually all need work before paint. I have done a few Honda restorations - the last was 1975 CB 750 four, There is a Nast sound of a chain slipping sometimes when the the starter is used - I fear this is a big job

Welcome aboard
It sounds like you'll want to start at the starter. I'd recommend the usual checks (service manual in the Hurricane section) and worst-comes to worst I know some owners have found a way to replace the starter damper without splitting the crankcase. Might be worth a look https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-tos-8...uccess-139015/ It's really tough to find good condition plastics, but from personal experience almost anything can be repaired Good luck |
thanks for the welcome, I have a feeling you guys are going to be a great help, and I will do my best too!
