Big shout out
Hey all, bit late to the forum having been anonymous for way too long and have really benefited from all the combined knowledge of the folks up here so wanted to give a big shout out to all my cbr brothers and sisters in the forums
the wife finally approved certain 'old dirty bike' related expenses so I'll be gettin serious with my 87 Hurricane 1000 - starting with an overhaul of the hydraulics, gummed up carbs, teensy oil smoking problem, misc leaks, a bit of electrical troubleshooting, all wrapped in plastics so beat cracked and bodged that I'm not sure whether to call a painter or a priest... well let's just call it a labour of love. Non-rational love.
Not my first project, and luckily not my daily rider (make and model to remain nameless) but as I learned this weekend when used compressed air to pop the brake caliper piston out, only to launch it into the parking lot now chipped and useless, it's always easier to learn before doing than the other way around
So ya, thanks in advance for helping me get my baby back on the road!

Welcome to the CBR Forum - and glad you finally took the plunge.
As your lurking has shown you, there is much experience and knowledge on the site regarding keeping the grand old dame CBR1000Fs on the road.
Pop into the Hurricane Saloon and say Hi and tell us a little more about your bike and what resurrection rites you intend to do.
Cheers, SB

Welcome to CBRF! Throw up some pics when you get a chance. And don't worry about what other bikes/cars you have - we're not motoracist.
I'm looking forward to seeing updates on you project

Speak for yourself, man. I hate those little vespa things.
Ya you don't see many of them on the road, at least I think it's the only I've seen in town
Vespa lol. You neednt have worried. If I tried to ride one of those little Italian scooters the tires'd probably go flat. That if I hadnt already barfed up the inside of my visor
