Battery issue

How’s it going everyone.
I got a 2000 cbr600f4i recently and well battery was dead. Previous owner turned it on for me with a portable jumper, but once we disconnected it bike shuts off completely no power what so ever.
so I took bike home and went out and got a super start battery from orielys . Got home connected it and got power to the bike , but it didn’t start not even a crank over. Every time I turn key over I hear a purge coming from battery area. And when I push button to start ,it like lacks power .
please someone help

Did you charge the new battery overnight before trying to use it?

As well as the above it sounds suspiciously like the RR / Stator are not working, the bike should run fine when spinning over as the alternator (stator) via the RR should provide enough power for the bike to run and charge the battery!

Check the voltage - a shorted cell or two on the old battery could drag it down enough to stop the ECU.

1. measure power of old battery, volts = ???

2. measure power of new battery with everything OFF, volts = ???

3. measure power of new battery when pushing start-button, volts = ???

These numbers will show exactly where problem is and how to fix it.
