Arrgh - new member alert - AGAIN!
[:@]Had an incident today. Lowside collision into the curb. Cold road, cold tires, road debris (new home construction area) and just a "small" amount of target fixation (it is hard not to notice the curb approaching at speed and knowing the outcome well before). Result is that I require entirely new fairings for an '01 929RR + some miscellaneous parts (ie. new exhaust system). Obviously this is not a new bike but it is a long time favorite and the first time it has ever been laid over like this. Hence I want it fixed and luckily I have some mechanical apptitude and tools and a winter project. Just add parts.
Also any hints and pointers are more than welcome.

RE: Arrgh - new member alert - AGAIN!
Step 1. Forget the plastics. Shaving them will save weight=faster bike
Step 2. Forget the exhaust. Louder=Better. Plus the unchanneled exhaust fumes will preheat the gasoline which gives at LEAST +5hp
Step 3. Ramp it over a building.
Step 4. Make S'mores with the burning wreckage.
Good to hear you made it through aight.
