Default Another forum newbie here

Hello all! So here's my background on two wheels. My dad had a cb750f which was brandy new when I was kid and he would take my brother and I for white knuckled, death grip rides every weekend with mom following in the family car in case we couldnt take it. Admittedly I did cry like a b**** on my 1st ride, he scared the **** out of me (i was 6 or 7 at the time) so I was sent back to moms chase vehicle to swap seats with my brother who didnt do any better than I did...but man scared or not I was hooked on speed for life, I couldnt wait to have my own. Fast forward to 11th grade (1991) and I had busted my a** all summer to get a bike. My dad still had to help me out $$ wise but my 1st mount was a brand new left over 1990 cbr600f hurricane. Kept her for a couple years and traded in for an f2 which was even better. Eventually it just wasnt enough though so I moved on to a zx7r which was the baddest bike on the road at the time (to me anyway, just before the all conquering 96' gsxr750 appeared). So it was time to sample a gsxr750, but I ended up getting a sweet deal on a gsxr1100. I spoke with God on that one, handled like a bus with a rocket engine in it! Buy now I was married and had a daughter, a house and two cars and a decent job wheeling and dealing parts from Sportline Honda Powerproducts here in my hometown, queensbury ny. Bought a mint 99' 900rr that came in on trade and every time the front came off the ground it would go into a tankslapper. Only bike ive ever experienced that on and I really didnt want it anymore, tankslappers are scary as s***. Back on to my trusty gsxr1100 and life was good...then one morning at work we had a tv on in the service waiting area and the sales guys were watching talking about a plane that flew into the WTC. I thought like a little cessna at that moment and wandered over to take a look. The rest is history, one of our sales guys was a paramedic and he went to nyc with a large group to help pull bodies from the debris. We he returned a week later, he couldt even speak about it without breaking down. I decided then and there that I wanted to get some payback from whoever had done it, talked with the wife and my brother and I both enlisted into the Army airborne infantry and ended with 3/505 PIR, 82nd Airborne. 6 yrs later and im home with no bike as I sold my toys prior to deployment. So I started looking around and came across a 96' yzf750sp bone stock for a good deal, still have it too. Just this summer a friend bought an 02' f4i and scared himself into selling it. So its in my little shop/mancave cause it needs some tlc. Put a 600rr swinger and 600rr tail on, 600rr front fender in the f4i forks and now im thinking of doing the 1000rr forks just for kicks, I like to tinker with any bike. Wow this is longwinded, im old lol, but if you bothered to read this far thanx and im glad to be back on a cbr.

Nice story, glad you got another bike you enjoy. If you need anything there are plenty of people to ask. And there is a fair share of people that like to tinker on here ^.^

I like the sound of that. Its always good to give back to a community. We tend to get many here that join to get free help & then disappear afterward. Sure would be good if most would give back. Anyway, we certainly appreciate your helpful spirit.

Yep, we like pics! Hope you're able to get 'em posted. Thx.
