Default Almost got it! Need help on a rear seat for 97 600

I posted in the other forum but figured maybe it would get more hits here. I am looking at a bike on thursday , Cbr 600 , 97. Red and hot! My first bike. It has no rear seat, fine for the time however i would like to get a rear seat for the bike for when i am ready to have a passenger. I looked on ebay and found a few rear seats but they were for new models, 2004 i believe. Will most of these fit the old bikes? If not i have not yet found a link that Sells rear seats. Could Someone please post a lnk to where i can find one?

any other pointers?
Thanks guys.

The 97 F3 has a 1 piece seat ( including a rear seat...) if you do not have a rear seat it means some one has installed a solo race tail (or they have a seat cowl over the rear seat)( available from Targa) and you will need the seat, both rear panels, and the panel that goes over the taillight.. better make sure all the area you need to attached the needed items have not been hacked on

Also the 04 F4i seat is the same as a 99-00 F4, not the F3. The F3 seat bolts down..and make sure that the seat you get is for a 97-98 if you get the plastic rear section ( it is different from 95-96)

Looks like it might just be a rear seat cowl which just unbolts to reveal the pillion. If it is a single seat and judging by the after market paint job it might be an ex race bike thats been screwed within an inch of its life. Check it out carefully is my advice and remember most race bikes will show low mileages which is another clue to its past.

That is a rear seat cowl ( removeable) and the seat and everything you need should be there by removing it
