Hey whats up to everyone..I'm Nate I live in morehead City NC. I've actually had my bike for about a year now.. i first got it in pretty rough shape I had been laid down at a low speed and and just some minor bumps and bruises..So after riding her for a couple months I couldn't stand having an ugly duckling so I started breaking her down and fixing what i new how started with taking all the fairings that all need at least a good sanding and bondo touch up... the front fairing and both sides need to be fiberglassed....so I jumped into that relm head first with no idea what i was doing...ended up sanding and grinding more than I had ever wanted too but its safe to say the fairings are sturdy and straight...bending all the mounting brackets back to where there suppose to be and new brake pads and tires got me through the next couple months...then It was safe to say i had the itch..I had Ideas to change everything.......right now I'm almost done with the 2rd make over I'm calling them lol....Painting everything with Truck bed liner and Yellow accents...replaced front bearings and rear...touching up some dents that were missed the first painting...and the exhaust I cut off it's a bobber kinda look not too shur about it but the old one had to go..painted the gauges and replaced all the bulbs. shaved off the old turn signal louvers ill call them..moved the shock adjuster and painted the rear pegs shaving off all excess aluminum so they look slicker....now its just a paint drying battle until im back on the road.
Any advice about having the exhaust cut off a friend said I could burn up my pistons?
Any pointers or advice greatly appreciated, Thanks, Nate

Hiyu Nate ... glad to have you aboard the CBRF ...
Sorry it took so long to spot you ...I must be slipping ..lol
Sounds like you started out with a project bike ....good fun hey
As far as the sawn off exhaust ... yup , you can actually burn valves before the pistons will worry about it ....
How short is it cut off ??

Hmmm ... that's pretty short ...
An easy way to test it out , is to go for a run and see how she sounds under big deceleration .... if she pops and bangs severely , they are not doing her any good ...
You need to keep back pressure up in most pipe's except prolly drag engine pipes ..
When they pop and bang bad when backing off , it usually means they are running too lean and that's what tends to fraggs the valve seats ...
