Default 2006 600 RR - Polished wheeels, etc

Hey guys:

First post and looking forward to learning more. Have a 2006 CBR 600RR, Tribal Orange scheme with Jardine RT-1 slip. Love the bike and so far a total blast to ride!

I was considering polishing my wheels and looking for either a good link for a DIY or best advice.

Welcome to the Forum sounds like you are very happy with your 600RR.

Welcome bro! Throw up some pics of this bad boy. I think the orange tribel is one of the best paint schemes on the RR. I have a whole book on polishing on my computer here. Just dont know how to transmit that pdf??? If u know how, let me know.

I was totally hoping for some pics...

When I bought my bike there were two CBRs in the place... my f3 and a tribal RR. Oh, how I would have loved to take that bike home, too.

My boyfriend polished the rims on his old CBR, he used airline remover (from Autozone, etc.). Brushed it on, let it sit for so long, then used a putty knife to scrape it off. He did just the lip and left the rest black, I didn't help him, but I do remember it taking him forever to get it all taped, scraped, etc. Looked awesome when it was done though, totally worth the work.

Hi & welcome to CBRF!
I polished the rims (just the lips) on my bike. Used an aircraft paint remover bought from a hardware store.
I taped off the centers of the rims, applied the paint stripper in sections, where the paint just bubbled up and just had to rub/wipe it off.
It took about 13 hours to do both wheels, defintiely worth the time.
Post some pics when U can

By the way Sara - you have any pictures of the polish job - i'd be curious to see how it turned out.
