05 CBR 600RR First Bike?
Whats up everyone I am looking at getting into riding. Now this would be my first ever bike and I have been looking at a 05 600RR. I know I should think about an older bike but this way I can take advantage of financing from Honda. Anyway before I even think about applying for the loan I will take saftey course and get the endorement on my lisc. Also I have ridden 4 wheelers so I am familiar wiht shifting gears. I know it will be a lot different but I have some basis to judge it on. I also drive a 2002 GT so I know about speed and the biggest thing involed with it is the respect it deserves. Taken this into account and the fact I will always wear protective gear and will NOT try any type of stunt at ALL is this bike a good beginner bike? I have read about it having a touchy throttle which I do have experience with in driving my friends 500rwhp Cobra. Sorry for making such a long post, its just not something I want to get into without covering all the bases! Thanks for any help.

Have you at least ridden a dirtbike or something of the sort? I've been riding for years and this is my 5th bike and let me tell you, it's got an aggressive seating position and a ton of power! Don't be fooled because it's a 600. It's nothing like say a Honda Shadow 600. If you've never ridden before,I would honestly not pick this particular model as your first bike....If you are going to, then at least go for the f4i as it's a little calmer and a lot more comfortable. Just my .02

The 600F2 or 600F3 is a good bike to start with if you are set on getting a 600cc bike. A 500cc bike of some sort would probably be better off as a starter bike for both of you. The thing with getting a newer 600cc bike is they are almost as fast as these newer liter bikes. Not to mention you will lay the bike down or wreck it at some point in time. Buy a cheaper starter bike and if something happens, it won't cost as much to fix. Plus you can ride it for a year or two and sell it for just about what you paid for it.

You know, I have read everyone's post for what is considered the best first bike. I mostly saw people write about buying a used bike for the first time. And that is good for some. I bought the 2005 cbr 600rr as my first bike and I took the MSF course. my opinion is buy what you want and use common since when you ride. Do not try to show off and you and the bike will ride as one. [sm=groupwave.gif]
