Yeah leave off cap until thermostat opens. The rev it up & down couple times to force bubbles to top. Then top off and put cap on.

Does fan have shroud around it to duct air-flow? Makes big difference.

Also does fan spin fast enough? Hard to know unless you have access to another
bike with same fan to compare.

Also did you run it for while with radiator-cap off to collect bubbles at top of radiator? Then fill up to top again before putting cap on?
Do NOT Forget the water wetter - that's where your anti-corrosion comes from. Straight water will rot your engine in a matter of weeks.

. Ok brand new radiator aluminum installed. Water pump installed. Distilled water with water wetter and then ran bike until burped the system. I verified fan works but also bought another one that seems to spin faster and make more air so swapped to that. Now after riding I noticed bike is still
getting into the mid to high 220 to 228. Sometimes 231. Fan comes on but doesn’t seem to bring temp down only maintains really. It does cool
back to low 200s when cruising speed There is no thermostat but can install
it if will
help I don’t think it really Will. You’re the experts. I even ran my fan entire ride to see if that would help. Am I paranoid here. 230
seems to be so hot. I’m less concerned about it being 230 rather then the fan is not really bringing it back down. I don’t have another bike to compare to besides my buddy’s 2021 gsxr and his fan will drop temp fairly quickly but 2001 vs 2021 I imagine no fair comparison. Does this sound normal now that I did all this ? Or should I start removing head checking passages there ? Possible head gasket ? Or just ride it that’s normal ? Other forums describe the f4i as a hot bike and many state similar temps but just want to be 1000 before I start to panick

My bet is those broken fins aren’t in your old radiator, they are somewhere downstream blocking things up - they bypassed the radiator and went straight into the block.

any chance you can pull the waterpump and reverse flush to see if anything gets dislodged?

Default Head

Is it not possible to be in the head. ? There’s no thermostat on bike since I got it so nothing to catch them and thermostat housing straight to head. ?

What is ambient outside air temp on these rides?

Also does fan have shroud around blades?

Which direction is fan moving air?

Default Hey Danny

Hey it’s the stock fan I believe it’s 5 or 6 blade and seems to be blowing toward the radiator can feel it pretty good from other side through radiator. Coming out. And outside temp usually 90s. But 80s in morning when been using bike to gym quick trips.
