Suspension

Looking for information from others with f4i's on adjusting the suspension (soften) my bike.

RE: Suspension

I took mine to a race tech suspension guy here in Portland (GP Suspension, Dave Hodges).

He redid the shock and forks on the internals to soften up the basic adjustment for me, which also lowered the bike some. I'm 5'3", 120#. Then set the sag properly, and advised me to run the tire pressure at 32 front and 36 back...I generally go 34/38, since stock is 36/42.

When I first got my bike, going over a paint stripe practically threw me off the bike, it was so stiff! Now it's smooth as butter without being mushy. I love it.

Yea that is how I felt yesterday. Every bump I hit I thought I was going to come off the bike.

Thanks for the info!

I went to a racing place called WCW in NJ. I got my bike tuned to my weight, eliminated the lag, adjusted the braking, etc...it's the best $35.00 bucks you can spend on your bike!

Yeah, mine was a leeeetle more involved - ended up costing about $600.
(The tax on being short.)
My husband says it'd be cheaper to have my legs lengthened and throw a bag of cement on the back.

RE: Suspension

Did that entail lowering links, b/c I didn't do that and I'm short too...

RE: Suspension

No lowering link, he did it all internally on the front forks and rear shock. Not real sure what all he did exactly! The invoice mentions a Comp Kit, tank valve, nitrogen, fsos showa part, fork oil. And lots of labor.

His website is : www.gpsuspension.com
Feel lucky he's local!
