Do you have any ideas for a jacket ?

Depends on her style... I have a Hein Gerike that I picked up off a clearance rack when I was in Texas this past spring that I absolutely LOVE! I previously had an ICON Motohead jacket that I liked, however it was too big for me and I wanted something that fit better.

Your best bet is going to be going to a dealer and trying on the different brands that they offer. Since manufacturers tend to vary quite a bit as far as sizing and styling, she will be better off trying some on first to get an idea of fit. From there, she can decide on styling. She will want a jacket that is snug, not tight, but definately not loose. It will ride up if she takes a spill. Armor and/or pads are a good idea too.

Leather vs. Textile? Depends on your riding conditions. I live in Minnesota, so a leather jacket makes the most sense to me because in the spring and fall, it can get darn right chilly.

A few to consider: Hein Gerike, ICON, Alpine Stars, PowerTrip to name a few. Do a search in the riding gear section of the forum.. I know that there are quite a few posts about this as well there.

My suggestion is go to the store and try them on. I have had problems where I've ordered online based on my size and the jacket doesn't fit me. It's a P.I.T.A store shopping, but you'll get the best fit.
