Default Well .........I got a nice surprise

The road leading to a local bridge is closed for a year.

This translates to a roughly 3/4 mile stretch of closed Road .......

made a good few 8k + runs down it today ............Bloody Brilliant is
all I can say ...........my own personal drag strip until sometime in
2011 ........YEAH........A1 Man ........

........Hope to get the Flip Cam on the Bike next week-end for a show
and tell .............closed road should be fun.........and safe to do so !

Some people have all the luck . Just be sure to have a good look around before you go too mental, in case some do-gooder type calls the cops on you mate!

I used to have a private drag strip too..It's called the M4

I hear ya Dave .................the way it's situated though .......many escape routes
and it takes quite a bit of driving to get around back to get to it ......... very out of the
way place.......don't think anyone would bother and if they did ........vamooooose ....I'd be gone ..........

it's all fenced off and all ! no entry for anything bigger than a bike or pedestrian.........only reason I'm doing it at all

Cool that you've got your own little strip, mark!
We used to all go to a place called "long lane". Nice 3/4 mile straight. Then over time, the last half got pretty bumpy..... not good at speed.
There was only one pull out on it, so we'd set someone there to hold people (not actually a road on, but a lot)

So what sprockets are you gonna go to? I'm looking at them again, too. I think I'm gonna stick with a stock front and +2 rear. I like it.

On the weather note... we had a beautiful weekend, and it's 58F here at 10pm, so I'm not bitchin'. Looks like rain in the near future, though.... which sucks cuz I planned on riding to Philly on Wednesday. It's a 3hr+ ride....maybe I'll just risk it and take my raingear. **** it.

Damn I say, Damn! I have not been home since June. All this talk about riding bums me out. I am stuck here in New Orleans working 12 hour night shifts and the only exciting thing is Hurricane Idi that missed us. That's about as close to a Hurricane that I have been in some time. I can't ride mine so I figured that I would ride out the Hurricane here. Big bummer!

I think I will!

TBT, sorry to hear that.
My bike is parked outside at the moment waiting on me. I rode to work today, then took it out to lunch, and I'm gonna take the long way home.
Then it's a 3hr ride to Philadelphia tomorrow.
Like I said... sorry to hear that.
