Default Which Toy

I was speaking to my beloved some months ago about getting another bike and to my surprise she said the life was too short and I should go and get the one I wanted. Not a good thing to say to me, that's for sure.

After a couple of months of looking around I have decided I want something with a more upright seating position and power in the right place.

I have narrowed it down to one of the following 3:-

BMW K1300R
APRILIA TUONO 1000
TRIUMPH SPEED TRIPLE 1050

If anyone else has a sensible suggestion apart from these 3 then let me know and the other thing is which would you wonderful people choose??

Ape or the Trumpet.

Or dare I say, build your own project with an upright riding position.

You say sensible suggestions, rarely happens in the saloon, but......
if you are being sensible, why no rice burners?

I didn't say I was being sensible...I wanted sensible suggestions and I really can't be bothered to build my own.

The only rice burner that made the final was the Kwak Z1000.

The Tuono is a great wheelie machine 1-up and may be a little cramped for 2-up but would come up even quicker when 2-up.

Can we do one of those "When is it appropriate to use duct tape" flow charts?

#1. Do you still own your Hurricane?

If yes.

#2. Does the Missus like to ride on back?

If yes.

#3. Does the Hurricane still serve the 2-up purpose for the rides that bring pleasure for you both?

If yes.

#4. What is your alternative 1-up style of riding? (choose one)
a. Pure Sport
b. Cruiser.
c. Adventure
d. Touring.
e. Racing (on and/or off road)

Insert answer here.______________.

Whatever your choice

Buy the biggest, baddest, newest version of that bike and then find somebody to race either to the next stop or the next mountaintop.

Your choice, my friend.

Happy hunting.

Vote for the Striple. The ten-fiddy has pretty ballsy sounds, they're fun to ride because the torque curve is inverted to most machines, takes a little getting used to because on the point where normally starts happening you gotta shift up. It's kind of like a mix between the power of an inline and the torque of a V but not really either. Probly a bit closer to an inline though. But because of the massive low end torque you can hoon around the twisties without constantly having to shift. Should help with carrying the missus too. It looks the part as well, IMO the other two look a bit weird. Although I don't really like the new stubby tail that much either.

But if you end up with a Triumph, don't buy a brand new one. There has been some issues with leaking gaskets and some findings of metal shavings coming out in the first oil change so it's a safe bet to look for one that has been in at least one service in a licenced stealership where those should have been dealt with. I've heard of a few cases of a blown engine but those have been before the first service, If it has survived past it, it'll be fine.

OK Woof,

To answer your questions...

Yes I am keeping the Hurricane, no matter what, I have had it longer than the family.

The missus doesn't go on the back at all ever. Her words were "You're a F***** nutter on that bike and totally out of your mind". All I was doing was filtering through town at about 15mph to some traffic lights.

I want the baddest hooligan bike but also one that I can relax on if I'm not it the mood for madness.

Mattson, I hear you about the Striple, took one out for a test ride and loved it but the relaxation didn't happen I just wanted to go for it all the time and I would like to keep my licence.

I have been looking at the CB1000R, has anyone ridden one of these?
