Default Reverse Motorcycle Art

I have always been a fan of the wonderful "photo realistic" artwork that acrylic artists can achieve (as seen in jewfzr work).

But sadly (unlike my wife and children) my own artistic abilities run to stick figures.

Sooo, I got to thinking; could I use Photoshop to reverse engineer a photo so that it likes like an acrylic painting of that photo?

Thanks to the magic of YouTube I've had a go tonight, I think this could be quite an interesting wee pastime for an old fart.

Looking at it more closely now, I guess it needs a bit more of the detail taken out, but hey, it's my first go; had to share with someone, "her indoors" wasn't overly impressed! but it's probably not her subject matter.

O I think that's a fine effort !
Perhaps a little less detail and blur the edges just a tad - I wish I could do that.
Stick figures are too complicated by far for me......
You giving lessons TK ?

Sorry, it looks like a normal photo to me apart from the blurry fork! Mind you everything looks a bit blurry at the moment...

Yeah gottya Jarvird, I think the lesson I have learned from my first play is that every new hobby needs new equipment.

Be it motorcycling, mountain biking or F1 Offshore Power Boat racing; at some point you have to face facts and accept you need better kit.

So what I realize now that what I actually need is a tablet and pen.

Using a mouse is like trying to draw with a brick.

Oh well; new hobby; bring more money.

Cest la vie.

you can apply effects in most photoshop packages; oil paint, acrylic, blur with blue tint and rain etc...
never ending!
these are done with mouse.

Yep, the standard effects are very easy to apply with a mouse. When you start getting into the slightly more clever stuff you very quickly see the need for a tablet, so that you can apply an effect to only a particular part of a photo.

I have no wish to bore the general assemblage, but for those that are interested please feel free to PM me for some very clever youtube links.

OK - here's one that one that might appeal, it gives a good insight into the power of Photoshop and has a subject matter that we probably can relate to.

Dave Hill Photoshop Effect Tutorial (HD) - YouTube

And maybe this one has even more subject appeal. Getting a bit on the techy side here but a cool demonstration of the power of PS.

If you don't have PS, don't even bother watching this; I have put it up merely for technical interest for the people that do.
