Have an Aprilia Shiver 750 stick coil to put in my KLR ( it's all Seb's
fault he started this stick coil ****)

Anyway - the coil has not 2 but 3 wires in , Red , Black & Yellow

Anyone know exactly what the yellow one does ? Sensor ?

Hey Sprock

Have a look at this site

Adapting Japanese motorcycle coils for the Futura - Page 2

http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/i...on-plug-setup/

Not only does it have the complete how to from this forum but lots of other info

They are using two wires on earlier Aprilias

Cheers, SB

Trout, never a truer word has been spoken.
It'll probably be OK in reality, but the Aprilias have never been known for reliability on the electrical side.........................stand by for "interesting times"

No it's not a lucas "Prince of Darkness" product. Not sure it's even of Italian origin
maybe asian in fact. Got it cuz it was short enough for the KLR and has a bolt hole
on top so it can be secured as the KLR valve cover is not very "supportive" of a stick
coil as it's completely open on the clutch side

Pic of how she looks now with new luggage , crash bars , light guard ,hwy pegs & billet pegs
