Problem brake caliper on sons dirt bike

Guys,
Can any of you give me some ideas on what to do with a problem rear brake caliper on my sons KTM 50 ? He was riding today and its has locked on. I have unbolted it from the swingarm to ensure that that was the problem and it was. I no nothing about brakes and would appreciate any ideas/advice. I'm happy to take it to be fixed if thats what has to happen but I thought I'd ask here first. Thanks.

Sounds like the seals have stuck and the piston can't release, Geoff.
Best option would be to remove the pads, and then carefully push the piston back into the caliper as straight as you can, using a screwdriver or something. May have happened because the pads were too far gone, or just a dodgy seal, or even rust on the piston or barrel.
Hope this helps. If you need a manual, let me know and I'll see what I can do.....:)

Yeah Pete I got a heap of good old WD 40 in there and freed up the pads a bit. There was a fair bit of dirt and crap on the bolts that the pads slide on. It may have been a case of them not sliding properly. In any case the wheel is spinning freely now. I'll see how it goes. Cheers.
