As I suggested God is kept quite busy organizing "Acts of God".
So is Jesus now the "idea's guy"? - "Hey Dad, I've got a great idea, lets lay a plague of locusts on some African country"
Or maybe Raylee has the right idea
"IMO, if anything, Jesus' official job title should be "diplomat"."
But that would make him about as important as Paris Hilton.
No wish to offend guys, just to provoke.

I read the original post and thought it to be a fairly harmless opening to a debate. I missed the locking. Did somebody really lock it after nothing even slightly dodgy was posted???
We are, after all, in the CBRF Saloon. The whole point is that we're spread out all over the planet and can't afford to fly to each other's boozers for a few quieties and a chin wag about the important (or not) stuff. If the polite conversation and sharing of views offends, use the batwing doors and mind they don't hit your **** on the way out.
Back on topic...
Philosophy is a good topic to talk about here and we don't all have to agree with each other. My take on Jesus is that he was probably a really good bloke who suggested that it might be a good idea for people to stop killing each other for no good reason...maybe it would be worth a try to be kind??
What he taught was interpreted by way too many people, then some took small sections of that and developed whole new offshoot religions.
Rumour has it that he was a carpenter in real life. I was never a big fan of their music...sorry, just trying to keep it 'in the saloon'.
So, who locked it and why? Who moderates the moderators? I might get in the **** for asking this but, having been a member since '05, I feel that I have a right to ask.
Steve. Good on you for your usual common sense and unlocking the thread.
May the great philosophy debate continue.
Cheers.
As to what Jesus does now? I think he passed away 2000+ years ago but clearly did some serious good for us all to be talking about him today...IMO, just a person, but a very good one!

But I have to disagree, that women's voice can almost bring tears to my eyes at times.
A few wines and "We've only just begun" sends shivers down my spine.

I've met a couple of women that have just about brought tears to my eyes too.

She's not attractive or sexy, but close your eye's and let that voice wash over you.

Good example of how to hijack your own thread.
WTF, it's the Saloon.

I'm sure we'll get back on topic eventually.
Think of it like a Billy Connelly joke, we might go wandering off into whole different areas for a while but I'm sure we'll eventually back where we're supposed to be going (which may in fact not be the original question anyway)
Life has a way of sending you where you should be, you might not realize it at the time, but sometimes you look back in a few years and say "Yep, that was the right thing at that time, and I'm glad I did that because that's why I am where I am now"
