Default OK; Hands up everyone that doesn't love Brittens

Hmm, just as I suspected, that would appear to be no one.

OK, so here's the deal (for Saloon Members only). Fly into Queenstown, borrow my old girl and go see an historic event.

John Britten Tribute Sound of Thunder 2015-Sound of Thunder

Get to see some of the most amazing motorcycling roads on the planet ( I will work out your itinerary) and get to see the amazing Brittens.

PM me if interested.

Yeah , know what you're saying hawkwind.

I think I maybe had mine cut about four years ago.

Came across a drop dead gorgeous original 86 Gixxer 1100 today.

My good lady wife was just shaking her head every time I happened to mention the subject.

She's probably right, don't really need another big road bike.

But sh1te it was nice.

Just food for thought, but how many pairs of shoes does she have? Does she only need one set of dress shoes?

If I ever find an old oil boiler 1100 for the right price, my wife is just going to have to be mad. I'll set up a nice cot in the garage if need be.

Come on TK you know you want to.
Maybe you could work out a deal with LK that would be beneficial to the K family as a group.Just a random thought.

As an aside I have just finished fettling the very loud and rattly exhaust on my gixer and am happy to report that though it is still loud the rattles caused by the detached muffler internals has now been remedied and she now has that characteristic howl of a yoshi system again.

I love that noise, one of the great joys in my life is following your bike and hearing that over my own exhaust.

And watching the waves of sheep and cows run away from the roadside fences as the old Gixxer blows past and frightens the crap out of them.

If I was a religious person I would compare it to the "Parting of the Red Sea".

But I don't believe in fairy tales, no matter how old they are; so I won't make that comparison.

And just as an aside, the Gixxer was in for it's first WOF since 2006. I just happened to walk past the Germans workshop on my way to work and spot it parked outside.

Apparently the owner works for Plumbing World, which is just across the street from the building I work in.

I can foresee discussions being held.
