Hello all. My name is Kelly and I am seriously considering the purchase of a used 1994 Honda CBR1000F in good condition next week. In most recent years I have been a 2004, Suzuki GSX-R 1000 pilot but I have also owned in the past a 1990 CBR600, 1998 CBR900RR and a 2000 CBR929RR. So, I have some experience with Honda CBRs and I loved each and every one of them. I'm looking forward to riding a Honda again and I am planning a long distance trip from south Florida to Illinois next spring and thought the CBR1000F would be a good mount for such a trip.
I have been seeking a CBR1000F for a very long time and think I finally found the one I want that is still all stock and production. Do you have any advice before I make the final purchase. I am purchasing it from a the original owner and the bike has 16,000 miles on the odometer. Was 1994 the last year of production for the CBR1000F? Were there any kown issues with that model? Thank you.

Welcome to the CBRForum, Kelly!
The last year for the 1000F in the states was 1996. I have a '95. Great bike. More comfortable for the long haul, for sure.
Only real mechanical concern would be the cam chain tensioner. Chances are that it will rattle a bit on start-up, but should quiet down after warm up. I've had no problems with mine at all. The later years (post '92 or '93 had an updated design that was supposedly a bit better).
As far as the '94 having any particular issues...no.
If the bike only has 16k, I wouldn't be too concerned with it.
I'd just be looking for signs of a laydown and other general stuff like leaks, smoke, noises, hard starts, etc.
These are great all-around bikes. They pull hard, and are comfortable and stable. (Dam nice looking bikes, too! )
