A new owner here in Central Ga of a 1990 CBR100F. It needs carbs either built or replaced and several little things looked at. It was a original Pearl White bike and will probably be returned to it's original color.

Hey Longshot, good to have you with us.

The carbs probably just need a good clean and balance, makes a world of difference to the way these old girls ride.

Unless you really have to, avoid splitting the carbs, keep them bolted together as a single unit and then dismantle and clean them one by one.

It's maybe easier to remove the airbox completely, in the long run, saves time and a lot of fiddling around.

There are manuals here :-

If you need advice, just shout out.

I traded a 83 CB1000C that I just about totally rebuilt for this one. I appreciate the heads up about the air box. I think on the "CBC". they built the frame around the airbox. I never could get it out. I am having trouble locating parts sources other than Honda. I am sure there is or was aftermarket support for this bike.

I know what you mean about the airbox, it's a real wiggle to get it out, but it is possible (just)

What parts do you need for the bike?

I know I need carb kits and a muffler. It has a Vance and Hines slip on muffler on it now, but I think it is more suited for a 250 than a 1000. This bike is loud!!! I have two factory mufflers off of a Hayabusa that I can adapt for now, but I really want some thing more Honda than these triangular monstrosities. I haven't had much time to go over it and really see what it needs. The wife's Cadillac needs a new engine installed, so that has my undivided attention right now.

These are my best sources and price for most parts I get, if I can't find in the Honda dealership in Texas. My dealer usually matches the price and the tax is lower than shipping charges, compared to ordering outside.

Not in the USA, but they have more parts available.

Last but not least eBay. Here is a link with a couple of the left fairing you are missing.
