Nearly did it!!
Just for fun I called into one of the local bike shops for a squiz. Sorry to say it was a Kawasaki shop. Some nice bikes in there but one nearly made me do bad things in my pants. I fell in love. Seriously in love. There I am with my new girlfriend & I spied a 2008 CBR 1000RR. Dark red & it was the only thing in the room. Yoshi pipe & a few other mods but very tidy & obviously not thrashed. I even had permission from the little lady to buy it then & there. Only one problem. It was sold*$#!?. Even if it wasn't sold & I did buy it the old Hurricane would still have a place in my garage. Something special about these old girls.

More like mad - you see how quick those S 1000RR's are in World Superstocks ? Awesome machines................there's a special out from Germany that is lighter and even quicker - called the Wunderlich "Curare'" - poison for sure...............

Hi folks. I haven't been on for a bit although I do check in from time to time. My lovely blue '87 has been garage bound I'm afraid, since I got the S1000RR last April. Other than a few trips up and down my driveway to keep things moving in her.
The BMW is everything I had hoped for. I've had 12 hour days in the saddle and other than somewhat tight hamstrings I've found it perfectly comfy. A very big change from the Hurricane. Seating position is higher, bike is much lighter, ridiculously fast but the handling and braking are the big performance differences I'm finding.
I did put it into a potato field in Prince Edward Island when I was out there in June - due to not paying attention and then target fixating. Lots of plastic damage but its all repaired now and I wasn't hurt at all.
Good to see the same old names are still active. Take care and I'll keep checking in.
