looking to get me a 1000f
a friend wants to buy my '84 goldwing if so i'll be getting a 1000f sooner than i thought. i see plenty of 1000f's with 30,000 miles and if i were to get one with that many miles on it what should i look out for? i guess i am a goldwing guy, i know about stators, regulators, and timing belts. i know early dohc motors need cam chain tensioners replaced with high milage motors but what may need to be replaced on a 1000f? is there already thred for my question

I think with all those bikes you have had (imageshack) and all you have just said it sounds like
you pretty much have all bases covered man. Only thing that might impact how
you go about getting one would be if it was laid up or stored and not run for a
couple of years and after that the only real issue I'd guess is trying to find a stealer aka "great bike for short money'

Listing a real location that doesn't take work may help. We run into these bikes pretty regularly... (at least I do). We may be able to point you to a decent one.
But other than the usual bike maintenance issues to look out for that would up the actual cost of buying it (fork seals, chain, sprockets, tires, etc) I'd be looking for abnormal leaks and a cct that won't shut up after it's warm.
These are pretty tough bikes and i wouldn't think one with under 30k should have too many issues. See how well it starts and runs... see if maybe it's gonna need some carb maintenance. (ie.. does it stutter, idle hang, hesitate, etc)
