That's not a $300 bike. He may have bought it for that, but I wonder how many parts and money he put into it before hand - it has a new aftermarket radial M/C on it for example... I bet he's got more into that one part than he did the original bike.
Still though - it's a lot of fun, I'd love to do it.
I've got a Bandit 600 that I still have under $600 into that would be fun to do a "no-budget" run on

That's why you have to go FASTER!!!!!!
But yeah - I think "Mad Sunday" definitely earns the "Mad" in the name. I follow a couple of Isle of Man things on Facebook. Apparently, there have already been some really bad accidents with fans/enthusiasts trying to tear up the roads once the course is opened to the public.... RIP. The racing has definitely gotten safer over the years, but statistically speaking, with how many people attend on their motorcycles - a lot of spectators/fans end up hurt going to/from.
Now, Tim - when you posted that first RideApart vid in the "Shocking developments in racing" thread - I kept watching.
What would have been cool was if that guy used his 600rr!
It looks like he at least took it out to the salt flats - that would have been more interesting. And I can guarantee you that bike is valued at less than that Viffer is. That would have made a cooler story than the VFR - since he rebuilt it, and all.
