Fit one of those small rear red strobe lights on your rear rail, Woof, they make you much more visible. We ride often here in foggy conditions and anything that'll get you there safely is good to have.

Its -21c here. Snow and ice on the roads. I don't plan on riding today.

Be careful of black ice on the roads.

Thanks for the concern, guys. Other than being damned cold, it was a nice ride. By the time I climbed out of the Nisqually Valley and up to a place we call Hawk's Prairie the fog had burnt off and it was a beautiful sunny day. Trust me, I wanted to blow off work and keep riding.

Today, more of the same sans fog.

If this holds up until the weekend, I might plan a ride out to my favorite butcher's shop

Ahh, nothing like a good weekend BBQ, something even a finn knows to appreciate!

If only I could get my hands on a box of baby back ribs, my worst vice and the main cause of the gut during the summer (along with the mandatory pre- and cooking hydrants, as well as the one(s) drank while eating. And the dessert ones...), just can`t get them anywhere "off-season"...

Glad you made it to ride another day! That fog can be reeeally slippery if it freezes onto the road, happens sometimes on the ridge road I drive to work...

Sheesh, didn`t know it gets that cold there too, been @+-0c here for the past four-five days...

Glad it was a good ride Woof!

Weather on the other side of the planet is going to be quite the opposite today.

44 degrees Celsius forecast for Adelaide and a "Catastrophic" fire danger warning for the Mount Lofty Ranges where we live!

From the Bureau website

Catastrophic Fire Danger is forecast for the following forecast districts:
Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and Lower South East
The Country Fire Service advises that fires burning under these conditions are likely to be fast-moving, unpredictable and uncontrollable.

I'm just heading out to prepare hoselines that can reach every part of the property, house and shed.

Won't be moving too far from the house today methinks.

Cheers, SB

Careful where you toss your cigarette butts there.

Last summer here, we went 80 plus days without rain on the west side of the mountains. A record going back to 1922.

That made for some tinder dry conditions on the east side. Wildfires took out parts of some communities.

People from all over the state with livestock trailers were heading to the fires to help foster animals for the folks who lost their barns and pastures

@ Shadow. I have something similar. I'll find a way to mount it on my grab rail. The fog does return at night when I'm riding home.

@ Mattson. Uhmmmmm, ribs. Though I was planning on a couple of beefsteaks

Yes, I do appreciate a good steak. Am prepared to dig deep for a decent one too. Just cannot get it right myself no matter what I try...

I did manage to find some ribs today, they`re in the fridge right now making friends with the marinade. Tomorrow... Gets me hungry just thinking about them...
