Indians spotted in the west...
I'm sure that title got your interest...
While I was on hols we'd go down to a local town called Mallaig for lunch and a wee bit fish shopping (can't beat fresh fish). It's a popular tourist stop off as it runs ferrys to islands nearby(Skye etc.) and runs steam trains to and from Fort William(LINK - REF; Harry Potter train/Glenfinnan Viaduct). Anyhow, we hear a few large twins arriving in to town so I thought to hang about to see what we're getting. What sounded like a few turned out to be over 24 Indians on there way to a show. Now I suppose some folk would shrug there shoulders and say "so what", you tell me how often you see a Indian running? let alone 24 of them and the best bit, they were from AUSTRALIA (mainly Victoria and New South Wales plates) on their way to a show, Amazing, jaw dropping, drooooling stuff, need I say more apart from " stick yer Harleys where the sun don't shine, bring on the Indians"
Here's me like a little kid in a sweet shop... On a 1500cc Indian Chief.
And a few more

If they were not built in Springfield, Massachusetts they are only Indians by name.
Sorry if I offend anyone, it’s just my own opinion. Just like the new BMW Mini is not a British Leyland Mini.
Indian went out in 1953 and the name went out to California (to many Chiefs not enough Indians killed it there{non-motorcycle types}) but looks like it resides in North Carolina now.
I personally like the Indian inline-4.

Now a funny story;
The old Springfield factory site is about 1 ½ hour ride from where I live. Each year the new and old bikes gather at the old factory site (I think on the third Sunday on July). All but one small warehouse has been torn down. The small warehouse is now the Indian museum. A group of us got together and took a ride over to check it out. My friend invited his wife to come along with us. After his wife went through the museum, she came out the exit door and turned to him and said,” There sure is a lot of motorcycle stuff in there but I didn’t see a single Indian display or anything on how they lived.”

Changes out in Springfield
The former Museum Owner and director Esta Manthos sold out of the old
place and donated the collection to Springfield Museum

The new one opens October 10th.
I plan on a trip.............before the real cold weather hits !
Maybe we can rally a few members for a run there !

Anyway, while you are in Springfield, go through the Springfield Armory. That's a must. They have a very impressive stash of firearms.

Being a gun freak, I'd love to get up there sometime.
I love their 1911s. Not quite the same as the old days, but they still make some great quality stuff, and they stand behind their products.
I bought a used XD9 for the lady, and it didn't come with a lock, manual, etc. I sent them an email about some replacements (I wanted everything in the kit.. the gun was mint, but you know..)
They sent me everything for free, no questions asked. They even paid the postage. Very cool.
Here's my Springfield 1911A1 Mil-Spec...
I'd also love to see the Indian museum. Very cool and unique bikes. It always seems like it's the interesting badasses riding the Injuns..
